- Location and Approach :- It is situated at Tipu Road, Chitrapur, 16 k.m East from Ramgarh Cantt. To reach the Museum you should be at Chatti Bazar Chitarpur via Shivalya Road to Barki Pona 400 meters towards south direction from NH-23.
- History :- ZKMRC has been founded by Gharib Shah in 2004 at a Rental Hall. In this Museum at very early stage the archaeological and historical findings of Mr. Faiyaz Ahmad were exhibited. In 2006-07 Ahmad worked in a Research Project ‘Megalithic Civilization of Ramgarh (Funded by Art, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs, Jharkhand Govt.). During the research a lot of archaeological findings of Megalithic age were added in a new section of the Museum. In 2008 a new hall was constructed by the founder’s wife Shrimati Zarina Khatoon. After construction of a new hall Faiyaz Ahmad with his co-operators organized and managed a number of archaeological exploration programs and thus a lot of artefacts were added to the Museum. For the national integration in 2008, an organization named House of Science and Culture Studies (HSCS) was established by Faiyaz Ahmad and eminent persons like Mr. Akhlaque Ahmad, Late Dr. Enayatullah, Mr. Yogendra Upadhyaya, Prof. Nageshwar Mahto, Mr. Majeed Alam, Mr. Wasim Hassan and Mr. Khaliqueullah and it has been registered by Jharkhand Govt. under Registration Societies Act 21/1860 with different objectives including conservation of cultural heritage through the collections interpretations and researches. After Registration of the organization all the archaeological, natural, cultural and historical artefacts were officially donated to the House of Science and culture Studies (HSCS). In 2009 a small Hall and a Varandah were constructed at Railway over bridge at NH-23, Chitarpur by Central Coal field Limited (CCL), Rajrappa Project for the Museum in which natural history and culture section has shifted.
- Importance :- In spite of crisis of space at aforesaid Museum it has Anthropology, Archaeology, Numismatic, Manuscript, Ornament, Natural History, Ethnology and Philately, Section. The Museum is an unique one as it has been rectified by several experts of the field to have the largest collection of art and cultural artefacts. It is special in some ways. Aforesaid Museum has one of the largest collections of Paleo- Archaeological stone tools, Numismatic collection (coins) and Manuscripts. These three sections altogether highlights the importance of the Museum in the contemporary scenario of Jharkhand state. A number of students and scholar from different states of the country are being benefited by the museum.
The artefacts were discovered from different villages of Ramgarh district particularly and different localities of Jharkhand state generally, which makes it important in the reconstruction of ancient regional and national history. It seems that in near future this museum is going to play a vital role in the field of Museology of the state and as well as the nation.
Our Vision :
The director of the Museum Mr. Faiyaz Ahmad says that “This Museum is a small modal of a great dream, in which all the conservation and research institutes will be constructed at a single campus and it will be a one of the biggest research centre of the country.” This will be a biggest centre for promoting cultural democracy and national integration.
